Description Long

Project coaching is designed to help participants solve problems, stay focused on their goals, and make the best use of their resources. A project coach is available throughout the duration of the project. This opportunity should be recognised early on as a valuable form of support. If questions or challenges arise, participants are encouraged to reach out proactively – after all, you’re the one who knows best how your project is progressing. Coaching sessions can take place in person, by phone, or in writing. However, face-to-face meetings often provide the richest opportunities for in-depth reflection. Problems that may initially seem overwhelming or unsolvable are already on the path to being resolved the moment they are addressed.

Preparation

  • Reflect on the current project situation, open questions, and potential problems before the meeting.

Execution

  1. Clarify the current situation in the project and the specific challenges.
  2. Identify obstacles or uncertainties.
  3. Develop measures or next steps together.
  4. Summarise the points discussed and define concrete to-dos.

Hints from experience

  • Be courageous and speak honestly about challenges.
  • Use visual tools such as flipcharts or whiteboards to sketch out possible solutions.
  • Schedule regular coaching sessions to review progress.

Tools list

  • Paper and pencil
