Participants are divided into groups. Each group gathers at its starting point – for example, at a table with writing materials. On other tables, face-down cards with individual letters of the alphabet are placed. One team member runs to the card table, selects a card, and brings it back to the group. The team then quickly comes up with a word that starts with this letter and fits the given topic. Once the word is found and written down, the next team member goes to fetch a new card. The game ends when the first group has found a word or idea for every letter of the alphabet. This playful approach helps generate ideas on a specific topic in a fun and engaging way.

Preparation

• Find a room with enough space for group activities.
• Set up tables or define starting and target points.
• Provide writing materials for each group at the starting point.
• Prepare a set of ABC cards for each group at the target point.

Execution

1. Explain the purpose of the method (e.g. to gather ideas or activate prior knowledge).
2. Divide participants into groups and explain the rules of the game.
3. Provide examples of words that fit the topic to avoid misunderstandings.
4. Start the game.
5. Stop the game once the first group has finished – or set a fixed time limit as an alternative.

Hints from experience

This method can get quite loud. Therefore, it's important to ensure that the game takes place in a location where no one will be disturbed.
