The film platform

rcc offers you a platform where you can upload films and share and discuss them with your work group. It is accessible after you have registered.

On this film platform, you can create hypervideos, share them with colleagues and comment on them. The hypervideos are used to develop and store new knowledge and are categorised in the resource management relax - concentrate - create in the ‘create’ area. You can find out more here (inter)connected media learning projects and here: (inter)connected media learning projects as proof of performance and knowledge storage.

What are hypervideos?

Imagine a hypervideo as a compound or a collection pot. At the centre of the network is a specific video clip. In addition to the clip, the hypervideo also contains elements such as comments, links, e.g. to Wikipedia, PDFs, knowledge sources, etc.

A hypervideo therefore combines a video clip, comments and any knowledge resources on the Internet into a new whole.

Hypervideos and the film platform are based on the open source software FrameTrail.

How to create a hypervideo?

Note: You need a video file in mp4 format. The maximum file size is 700 MB. If you want to convert a video or sound file into mp4 format, click here: https://online-umwandeln.de/umwandeln/audio-und-video/

And this is how you start: Click on the plus symbol in the menu bar at the top.

When you click on the plus symbol, the following dialog will appear.

In this dialog, you decide which of your video clips you want to display in the hypervideo.

The dialog shows you clips that you may have uploaded earlier, as you can create multiple hypervideos from a single clip. If your video clip isn’t available yet, click on ‘Upload new video file’ and select the clip from your computer.

The uploaded clips are displayed as small thumbnails in the middle. Click on one to select the clip for your hypervideo.

Assign your hypervideo to a becreate (Inter)connected Media project. When you later share the project, your group members will also see the video and can comment on it.

Give your hypervideo a name and a description, then finish by clicking the ‘Create hypervideo’ button.

Once the hypervideo appears in the list on the main page, it can be viewed, commented on, or further edited.
